How to Manage & Update Your WordPress Website

Now that your website is up and running, it’s time to learn the basic ins and outs of managing and updating your WordPress website. You’ll learn the difference between pages and posts, how to optimize your media library and discover components to make your website work better for you. While students are free to use alternative WordPress hosting platforms, the instructor will only be teaching using the Flywheel platform for this session. She will not be able to assist with any other hosting services. Students should come prepared with their images ready to insert. While not imperative, website copy for home page, about us page, and contact us page is strongly recommended. Knowing their social media handles will be beneficial too. Students should come prepared with a general idea of their desired layout for their website design. This is often called a wireframe or framework. The instructor will discuss the wireframe before we begin any actual work of building the website in the workshop. Students need to be logged into a desktop computer and have good, strong internet connection. Mobile devices will not work for this workshop.
